GETTING STARTED

Auria offers an integrated approach to physical therapy and wellness, with services designed to help you move better, feel stronger, and build lasting health.

Our services include:

Pelvic Health Physical Therapy

Specialized care for pelvic pain, bladder and bowel concerns, pregnancy and postpartum recovery, sexual health concerns, and other pelvic floor conditions.

Orthopedic Physical Therapy

Whole-body physical therapy for pain, injuries, mobility limitations, post-surgical recovery, and musculoskeletal concerns involving the spine, hips, shoulders, knees, feet, and other areas of the body.

Wellness Classes

Pilates, yoga, strength, and movement classes designed with pelvic health and whole-body wellness in mind. Our wellness offerings are available both to current or former Auria patients and to members of the community who have never received physical therapy at Auria.

Not sure where to begin? Contact our team and we can help guide you toward the service that best fits your needs.

Your first visit includes a comprehensive evaluation designed to understand not only your symptoms, but how your body is functioning as a whole.

Your physical therapist will take time to listen to your concerns, understand your history and goals, and assess the areas that may be contributing to your symptoms. Depending on your needs, this may include evaluating movement, strength, mobility, breathing, posture, balance, coordination, and other parts of the body.

For pelvic health patients, your therapist may recommend an internal pelvic floor examination when clinically appropriate. This will always be explained beforehand and performed only with your consent.

Physical therapy treatment sessions take place in private treatment rooms.

We treat a wide range of pelvic health and orthopedic conditions.

Pelvic health care may include concerns such as pelvic pain, bladder or bowel symptoms, pregnancy and postpartum concerns, sexual health concerns, and complex or persistent pain.

Orthopedic physical therapy may address pain, injury, weakness, mobility limitations, post-surgical rehabilitation, and other musculoskeletal concerns throughout the body.

Because different parts of the body influence one another, our therapists look beyond the location of your symptoms to understand the larger picture.

Visit our Pelvic Health and Orthopedic Physical Therapy service pages for more information, or contact our team if you’re unsure whether Auria is the right fit for your needs.

Many patients come to Auria after trying other approaches.

Symptoms—especially persistent pain and pelvic health concerns – do not always resolve when treatment focuses only on the area where symptoms are felt. The pelvic floor, spine, hips, diaphragm, feet, nervous system, breathing patterns, movement habits, previous injuries, surgeries, and life experiences can all influence how the body functions.

At Auria, we look at the whole picture. Your care is based on what we find during your evaluation and how your body responds over time, rather than following a preset protocol.

Previous treatment that didn’t give you the results you hoped for doesn’t necessarily mean another approach won’t help.

Our goal is to understand what may still be contributing to your symptoms and create a clear path forward.

Yes. One of the benefits of Auria’s whole-body approach is that we don’t view pelvic health and orthopedic concerns as completely separate systems.

For example, pelvic symptoms may be influenced by the hips, spine, breathing mechanics, feet, strength, movement patterns, or previous injuries. Similarly, an orthopedic concern may sometimes have a pelvic health component.

When appropriate, your therapist can consider these connections as part of one comprehensive plan of care rather than treating each body part in isolation.

Yes. We regularly work with people who are in Los Angeles for a limited period of time, including those visiting from other states or internationally.

When time is limited, we focus on making your visits as useful as possible: understanding the primary contributors to your symptoms, providing targeted treatment, and giving you clear strategies you can continue independently.

If needed, we can also help you understand what type of care or support may be useful when you return home.

Even a limited number of visits can provide greater clarity about what is happening in your body and what steps to take next.

You don’t need to figure that out on your own.

Contact Auria and tell us a little about what you’re experiencing and what you’re hoping to accomplish. Our team can help guide you toward Pelvic Health Physical Therapy, Orthopedic Physical Therapy, a Wellness Class, or a combination of services.

Our goal is to meet you where you are today – and help you build the health, strength, and confidence to move toward where you want to be.

PHYSICAL THERAPY & INSURANCE

Physical therapy sessions typically last about an hour.

The number and frequency of visits varies based on your condition, goals, history, and response to treatment. At your initial evaluation, your therapist will discuss their findings with you and develop an individualized plan of care.

Your plan may change as you progress. We believe care should respond to what your body needs rather than follow a predetermined timeline.

Yes. Auria is in-network with select insurance plans, and we are continuing to expand the plans we accept.

Insurance coverage can vary significantly depending on your specific plan and benefits.

The best way to determine whether your plan is currently accepted is to call our office and speak with a member of our team. We can help you understand whether Auria is in-network with your particular insurance plan and discuss your options for care.

For insurance-based physical therapy, a physician referral may be required.

Because our insurance participation may change as we add additional plans, we recommend contacting us directly for the most current information.

It depends on how you are receiving care.

If you are using one of the insurance plans for which Auria is an in-network provider, a physician referral may be required. Requirements vary by insurance plan, so please contact our office before your first visit. Our team can help you understand what is needed for your specific coverage.

A physician referral is not required for out-of-network physical therapy, Whole Body Optimization Sessions, or Auria’s wellness classes.

If you’re unsure which option is right for you, contact our team and we’ll be happy to help you determine the best way to get started.

Wellness

No. Auria’s wellness classes are open both to people who have received physical therapy at Auria and to members of the community who simply want to move, strengthen, and care for their bodies in a supportive environment.

Our Pilates, yoga, and strength offerings are designed with a strong understanding of pelvic health, movement, and whole-body function.

You do not need to have an injury, diagnosis, or history of pelvic floor concerns to participate.

Our wellness program sits at the intersection of movement, strength, pelvic health, and long-term wellbeing.

Rather than viewing exercise as separate from health, our classes are designed to help you build strength, mobility, body awareness, and confidence that carry into everyday life.

Our pelvic-health-informed approach can be especially valuable during life stages such as pregnancy, postpartum, perimenopause, menopause, and healthy aging – but our classes are designed for anyone looking for thoughtful, whole-body movement and strength.
